Hey everyone. I'm hanging out here more now, so get used to me.

Well, I've been tinkering with a simple rpg creation program that doesn't require any programming language skills. Thank goodness. I've made a few games that I never completed just because they were missing something. I thought to myself about what I really wanted to make... and then I got it! I would make a game honoring the greatest free-to-play mmorpg of all time, Loradon!

I've talked to GreyKnight about using his tiles from Loradon 2.1, and he was okay with it. Therefore, the game would have a very similar appearance to the actual game.
I, of course, don't want it to be an exact copy of the game. We've already played that.
The game would be a standard random-encounter, turn-based rpg. It would also feature all familiar Loradon locations, monsters, items, and some new things too.

The story is going to be based on the GM's and Mod's as actual characters in the game.
The true legend of Loradon has been created by the players itself, however. This is why I'm going to make many of the playable characters based on real players I've known, and some new people too if you're an avid Loradon player.

As of now, I'm just going to call it "Loradon Legends", unless someone comes up with something better. I'm always interested in suggestions for the game. (It's hard to create an entire game single-handedly).

I'm making this post to find out if anyone would play this if I were to work on it.
Besides, who wouldn't want more Loradon material to play to hold us over to 3.0.

Feedback, please!

I have lots of experience with that, what engine are you using? It is probably a type of "mirage" engine created in Visual Basic...which might not work in Vista.

I would like to know the name of the engine and if you need a mapper or something please.

Most mirage based engines actually do work in vista
Loradon doesnt because of the directx version, you can get the program to run, just not graphics due to directx

Id play :)

Doesn't Mirage use DirectX?

Mirage probably does use direct X and is made in VB6
or possibly in other Visual basic but probably doesn't work with Vista.

I would definitely play the Loradon Legends game, though.

get something made :D

The game sounds fun. Not only do I love Loradon, but I love turn-based RPGs too. I'm looking forward to it, Giygas!

The program I'm using is the newest version of Enterbrain's rpg maker, RPG Maker VX.
I'm glad to hear that a decent amount of people want to play this game. I've mapped out half of Koyrith Outskirts
and Koyrith. I have all items, weapons, and armor made up in the database. Vaynes helped me with some
technical information, and I'm in the middle of working on it at the moment. I'll have a demo up soon so people can
actually test if they would want to play this or not.

Y'kno soon i think lots of you will be Loradon Legends (right about the time when 3.0 comes out) for staying around so long see The Oldies list for the current one. I spy Giy on that list :P (maybe this list might help with a back story for the game?)

That list will be really helpful. I need to have the most legendary player of each class at least. Then I'll put others in. And even if your not a playable character, just put a post down with your name you want in game and what class you are and I'll at least put you in as a cameo.

Are Legends classified by how early they came to the game, or how powerful they are (or maybe both)?

Anyway, I still don't know if I'm a legend... according to Pifreak I am, but I feel that I would have needed to be here for 2.0 to be considered as such.

Dunno about Legends, good title and all.
In SAO we just call the Oldies, Veterans.

*Salutes*

I looked up the RPG VX thing your using, it looks alright.
Turn based it cool, I guess. Something to hold me over 'till 3.0 and SAO updates.

I'd say you belong in the legends, you've got most of the highest chars and you've been with the game for ages as well as having a lil comments section in the Newsletters etc. But i'll remake the Oldies list once 3.0 comes round again.

Jay I believe that you are a legend I mean you know more about loradon then anyone I know really. Now I know that being a high level kind of makes you a legend but i don't know if I would consider myself a legend. I have not been around long enough in the game of loradon I feel. I am glad though that I have reached such a high level and that I have reached my goal as best thief. I also want to thank all the people I have grouped with through out the whole game and those who have helped me get my player to where he's today. Special thanks to Ranginall for hellping me to go all the way probably couldn't be where I am without him. To get to the point Legends are not just the highest leveled people I feel. I feel the are the people who have shown the most passion for the game. It just seems the player that show the most passin seem to reach higher levels. Also just cause your a oldie doesn't mean you are a legend although most oldies are because they layyed out the paths for all the later players who came along.

I definitely give you props Jay! You still got all those high level chars even after the game died down! Now that's devotion my friend! I'd say legends are those who have had the most influence in the community, longest time in it, and level combined! Jay is a new legend that's for sure! Oldie and Legend are not synonymous.

also when ya gonna get that demo up Giygas? :)
